I got my first Harley, A 74 inch FXE in 1980. That was back in the daze when

Shovelheads were state of the art, and cell phones hadn't been invented. Yeah,

to ride in those daze you had to carry tools, spare parts and know what to do with

that stuff when you were stuck on the side of the road.

The short video at the bottom of this page shows me starting and kick starting a 1981 Harley FXB.  Actually this bike has the power train from an FXB but it's sitting in a Paughco frame and most of the rest of this bike is put together with after market parts.  A true, "Swap Meet Special", custom build.

I've owned 6 Harley's over the last 37 years and 3 of those were Shovelheads with kick starters on them.

I rebuilt my 1984 FXWG in 1996 from the bare frame up with over 100K on the clock.

Lucky13 was my main ride for many, many years. I still have a special place in my heart for Shovelheads.

During the 1980's and 1990's I was doing a lot of freelance work for all the major biker magazines of the times including a cover and centerfold for "Outlaw Biker" Nov. 1986 issue. My 35mm Nikon was always in my saddlebags.

I started the JUS BROTHERS Motorcycle Club a long with 2 other Brothers, Dennis and Corky, with me as the first President on April 13th 1990. Corky and Dennis have passed now(RIP) and I'm out "good" from the club.
