Richard Grunn is a NYC-based actor, artist, puppeteer, and teaching artist who has performed and toured original shows at many festivals in the U.S., Ireland and the U. K. including the West Cork Literary Festival, Schull Arts Festival, Arundel Festival, and The Edinburgh Fringe. Some of his original shows that he performs on a regular basis include: "Urbano’s Circus"- a trash-constructed puppet circus, his solo show, "Father Joiner’s Purgative Poetry Project"- a poetryreading of several winsome, yet unlikely poets, and "Dr. Braman and the Science of the Mind"-where phrenology meets electricity- meets ‘positive vibrational output.’ In 2019 he received a Creative Engagement grant from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and performed his show, Urbano’s Circus and the Monster of Garbage at the University Settlement. He received a 2015 BRIO award for experimental film from the Bronx Council on the Arts, andin 2003 was awarded the prestigious Pennsylvania Council of the Arts Fellowship in Theatre.

Mr. Grunn is a teaching artist for Sundog Theatre where he designed a theatre-based literacy program, 3-D Literacy, which services elementary and middle school students in the NYCschools. He has taught radio theater to visually impaired students at the Lighthouse Guild, and seniors for the past four years. He has been a SU-CASA recipient from 2015-2019.
