About the author
Bianca was born and raised in the great city of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the sixth child of 13, born to the handsome Ransom McCormick, Sr. and the lovely Labertha Darensbourg-McCormick. She has five sisters and seven brothers. There was never a dull moment coming up in that house. Her gift for writing came from her mother, who is also an author and poet. Coincidentally, they published their first books in the same year, 2016. Labertha wrote a book of poems, whereas Bianca wrote a self-help book infused with original poems and acronyms. Like her mother, she is witty and wise. She tends to make people laugh, even without trying to. But you can rest assure there's always a powerful message wrapped in her sense of humor. Bianca graduated from G. W. Carver High School in the Ninth Ward on May 24, 1997. She received many accolades for being an ongoing scholar from elementary to all throughout high school. For a person born with dyslexia, she managed to remain at the top of her class. In fact, she graduated ranking number 3 out of 150 students. Of the two scholarships she has earned, one was full paid. As recounted in Chapter 3, dyslexia was a major challenge for Bianca at one point in life. She could not tell the time on an analog clock or look up a word in the dictionary. The author recalls feeling "completely dumb", so she believed she had something to prove to herself. At about 7 years old, she published a short story with pictures she had drawn herself, before transferring to another school. She wasn't quite done with it, but she ran out of time. When she wrote her first book, she didn't even think about that achievement. She said, "I guess it was God's plan." While raising four young kids with the support of her amazing husband, she finished college and graduated from the University of Phoenix in the top 20% of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Business/HRM in June of 2012. Now that she has her Bachelor's, she's mastering the work of an author. Her vision is to influence change in the way people think and behave, with her self-help books and gift for offering sound advice. Her mission is to serve the impoverished youth in society through mentorship, scholarships, grants, and professional guidance and support. Bianca's transparency, confidence, wit, and intelligence qualify her as a leader and pillar in her community.
