Cocooning the Butterfly
by Laila Doncaster

Overview

A Finnish craftsman carved the proverbial text deep into the wood of the Butterfly Bed ...

“If ye shelter her in treasures of the heart, God shall bless thee with treasures abundant in His truth and prosperity; a truth known only of a Butterfly and her Cocoon".

A tale of love entwined by fate brings this proverb to life.  The Knight Riders' Princess, they must protect her life, for her destiny is to befall the Demons Den and bring the Keeper of the Monarch to his throne.

Description

If Halya had known what the Knight Riders stood for, against, and their protection, would she have experienced the trauma and heartache that she'd gone through? Possibly, but that's not what happened or how it was.

Sheltered and innocent to the reality of the bikers that swarm around her, her family did what they had to do, to save her from certain death. The Demons want her dead and will stop at nothing ... but, they have to find her first.

A naive orphan at 17, bullied, beaten, molested, raped, battered, and broken. Faith gave her the strength to search for the man she dreamed of. This is Halya's story, what she went through, and how she overcame a painful past. Love, protection, shelter, warmth, and tenderness, could The Buffalo's destiny in Cocooning The Butterfly save her spirit from sure madness?

Knight Rider Law rules the biker world, yet as time passes and tempers flare, war is inevitable. A biker's war, a long-standing feud over a multi-million dollar ranch, one boy and one girl were destined to achieve the promise of the old men of long ago. Will she survive, find the man in her nightly dreams, escape Hell and remain sane?

About the author

I was born Canadian in 1962 and raised in the Province of British Columbia (BC). I raised two children and now have four grandchildren. I worked primarily in road construction as a traffic controller and first aid attendant from 1981 until 2011. Acquiring the Saint John's ambulance - Industrial First Responder, I continued to work road construction, as well as the oilfields, gas pipelines, and forest fires of Alberta(AB) and BC. I graduated with honors at a technical university in 2004, with a minor degree in Computer Programming, Software Development, and Systems Analysis.

Suffering most of my adult life with anxiety and depression, I began writing #CocooningTheButterfly in 2002. Thirty years suffering emotional, physical, spiritual pain, and loneliness, writing helped to free my spirit. Transforming notes into story content filled with amazing characters, vibrant plots, metaphors, teasing riddles, and a touch of faith melded with the complexities surrounding the butterfly's lifecycle. I hold nothing back, my heart on my sleeve, tears of joy and heartache spill as I breathe life into my characters.

I married Jeff Doncaster in 2014, finally getting it right. We live in Alberta Canada, enjoying the grandchildren, and look forward to a life in the country as an early retirement nears. From 2002 until 2019, 17 years, I have delved into an imaginary world to complete my first full-length novel. #CocooningTheButterfly was originally published October 5, 2017, distributed worldwide, and will soon become a series.
