Lynn Killam has been a zoo professional for forty years. Throughout her zoo career, Lynn Killam has experienced everything from witnessing the birth of a baby orangutan to chasing down an escaped tapir in the middle of the night. She has spent forty years working with animals and traveling to remote rain forests of the earth to see them in nature. From colorful descriptions of the sometimes eccentric characters making up the zoo world to essays on her encounters with wild animals, this is an emotional and gripping look at the realities of zoo life and traveling to see wildlife in foreign lands.

Lynn Killam is a retired zoo professional and primate specialist who has spent forty years caring and advocating for zoo animals. Her greatest fulfillment has been traveling to see the animals she's worked with in their natural habitats. Her focus includes the ethical and humane treatment of animals as well as conservation of endangered wildlife through the support of eco-travel.
