Zip, Zip, Hooray!

Honeysuckle flowers and a hummingbird feeder have attracted Zip, a ruby-throated hummingbird, to return to Fredericksburg, Virginia every summer. Sam the Siamese cat anxiously awaits Zip's arrival each spring, and loves spending the season outdoors on the deck with his migratory friend. Brenda Love is a retired elementary school librarian who lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia with her husband Steve and their cat Samantha. She taught high school and middle school science and worked as an instructional coordinator, but her favorite job was being a children's librarian. She enjoys reading on the deck as Samantha naps under a fern, Zip flies toward his feeder, and other animals play in the nearby trees. Park Ridge Elementary School will always be in her heart.
