Rather than being autobiographical, the book presents the author's reflections of being a woman of color in White America, with a multicultural genealogy: Caribbean, Native American, European and African. About the author
Living in America as a woman of color, Amy Bryant's life and that of her family has been shaped by a multicultural mosaic. Her immediate family encompasses her children and grandchildren...In the tradition of her culture, her extended family includes those of her bloodline as well as those mutually chosen to be called "family." With a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University, and a Masters from Columbia University, Amy enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Clinical Social Wor5ker. The avocations of Reiki Master, Minister and now Author, have added to the depth and breadth of her experience. Encouraged by friends and family to tel her story, Amy has written this collection of vignettes to honor the richness of a heritage that the shares with many people of color. The book is an invitation for you to walk with her on her journey home.
