Overview
An earth spirit finds himself at odds with the grasping gods in this story inspired by Norse mythology.
Description
The narrator rises up through the earth to first fall in love with and then turn against the gods. He discovers that their faith in life is undermined by the gnawing influence of time, which will ultimately leave him alone in an empty world. At first he works to achieve that end, but discovers that he himself is lonely and must create new relationships with the humans who have survived the destruction he helped create.
