Overview

Trying to serve “investor” clients, Kauai real estate broker Parker Hendrix gets sucked into a sordid world he knows nothing about—kidnapping, murder, drugs. Will his wise-cracking sense of humor help him survive? Or will it get him killed?

Description

A wise-cracking real estate broker on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, Parker Hendrix, cultivates orchids, plays racquetball, and likes to sleep late after midnight skinny-dips with his free-spirited girlfriend, Lorri. When two mainland Mafia-types show up at Parker’s small-town office posing as real estate clients, Parker’s peaceful routine becomes engulfed in the grim realities of kidnaping, drugs and murder, the underbelly of paradise. With little help from the local police, Parker enlists the help of his ex-cop Polynesian buddy, to untangle the mess. Throughout the ordeal, Parker does his best to conduct real estate business as usual. His main preoccupation involves the sale of a high-end beachfront home on the island’s north shore. Parker encounters myriad complexities of Hawaiian real estate, a barracuda seller’s agent, a cancelled escrow, a complicated loan process and a brusque buyer-client.
