About the author
Chanda Minor-Brigance is the co-founder of the BRIGANCEBRIGADE.ORG foundation. Chanda co-found the Brigance Brigade Foundation in 2008, along with her husband Orenthial James. Chanda and her husband have been married for 26 amazing years and they presently reside in Baltimore, Maryland where they have lived since year 2000. The Brigance Brigade Foundation helps to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Chanda is also the driving force and inspiration for the Chanda's Caregiver Corner, a program within the Brigance Brigade Foundation. This program is designed to recognize and celebrate the special relationship between PALS and CALS. Chanda is a native Houstonian and was born, raised and educated in Houston, Texas. After graduating from high school, Chanda pursued her higher education at Texas Southern University, located in Houston, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with concentration in Management. Chanda pursued a business Bachelor of Arts degree with concentration in management studies, to follow her youth to present-day dream of becoming a daycare center owner and operator. After graduating from university, Chanda nurtured her years of experiences and dreams of working with young children. This launched a teaching opportunity with the Archdiocese of the Houston Metropolitan area where Chanda embraced educating first graders. While being an educator, Chanda's greatest accomplishment was to witness the joy and excitement of her student's rapid learning.
