Description

Pilgrimage is a journey of the soul we make with our feet. Once undertaken, a pilgrimage never really ends. Pilgrims continue to travel through memories, imagination and prayers that revisit those places which sparked hunger in their souls. No matter where we were born or where we live, all Christians share a home in the story of Jesus of Nazareth. The poems in this book are drawn from a pilgrimage to Jerusalem that traced the events of his life. Through vivid reflections on Jerusalem's holy sites, the book invites readers to participate in a spiritual journey that extends past borders and cultures, bridging hearts to a shared spiritual heritage. With each page, it encourages a deep connection to the story of Jesus of Nazareth, nurturing a universal sense of belonging in the sacred. This work offers an invitation to journey alongside pilgrims past and present, within a story held dear by millions.

About The Author

Timothy Dale Jones is a native of Hendersonville, a town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Since 2010 he has served as part of the clergy team at St. James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville. In addition, since 2001 he has overseen the daily operations of the Hendersonville Rescue Mission's emergency shelters for his community's unhoused neighbors. He also operates programs there which include daily public meals, paths to permanent housing, a medical clinic and day center services for those without access to hygiene care. When he's not doing this, Tim is mostly out exploring his beloved local mountains with a camera or at home writing poems about what he encounters in the forests there. This is his fourth book of poetry.
