Living in poverty in a dangerous, walled-in city trapped in a post-apocalyptic world didn't give Rain much to live for besides taking care of his small family by working at hard and sometimes disgusting part-time jobs. When he makes a sacrifice made for a childhood friend, he unwittingly finds it leads to the opportunity to become an agent of the high-tech secret society known as The Vincent. Before his training is even complete, Rain finds himself in over his head with danger at every turn. Armed with nothing but long-term amnesia, a clever mind and wry sense of humor, Rain must do everything in his power to prove he has what it takes to become a Vincent agent—all while simultaneously outmaneuvering a malicious spy.

Sirus Hunt has, in his own words, “always devoured thrillers in single reads” because he finds they keep him most highly engaged and require less patience than other genres. Therefore his writing style has naturally gravitated toward this favorite book category. Sirus grew up in Indiana, and from the tender age of six or so, when he was in first grade, he poured his heart and soul into creating the best “free-write” stories that he could, captivating his classmates with his exciting tales about go-cart chases and other action-packed adventures. So writing has always been in his blood. He once wrote a fantasy novel about two superhuman “bond brothers” who had elemental abilities that helped them fight demons. They were later betrayed by their own kin, and overtones from this theme are included in When Rain Rises. Sirus joined the Marine Corps at age 18, and as of When Rain Rises publication, he is 20 years old. He plans to continue writing in his free time.
