We the Peeps

A Political Caper and Wish Fulfillment

by Morgan Hunt

Overview
At a time when Americans from all along the political spectrum demand a more responsive government, author Morgan Hunt offers a political satire that teases out a wild 'What if?' We the Peeps is part Breakfast Club for political junkies; part warped West Wing; and part 'Hey, that might actually work' -- a sly, provocative read for the political season.
Description
When seven ordinary citizens are unreasonably detained by the TSA, they bond over their upset with the government and decide to launch a second American Revolution. Instead of horses and artillery, they rely on media distractions, scams, and hacking. They take on green energy, deregulation, Citizens United and other issues with whimsical yet hopeful results. We the Peeps is a fun read for all who are interested in politics, civics, democracy and the American experience.
About the author
Morgan Hunt was born and raised on a Jersey shore barrier island. Though she's been an Ashland resident for over a decade, her writing retains a Jersey candor that punctures the pretentious. She writes in a variety of arenas: mystery novels, poetry, screenplays, articles and short stories. Her traditionally published Tess Camillo mystery series won a Best Books Award (USA Book News) and a National Indie Excellence Award. Hunt's poems have been published in the California Quarterly, San Diego Mensan, and Lavender Review, and have won Oregon State Poetry Association contests. She wrote an article on the use of profanity in fiction for Writer's Digest. Hunt's short story, "The Answer Box," placed as a Finalist in the 2014 Saturday Evening Post Great American Fiction contest. We, the Peeps is her first political novel.
