Description
This book was birthed out of a desire to give voice to our children, whose perspectives and experiences are often overlooked. For Love of Children guided six middle school students through a journey of self-reflection; to express their thoughts and emotions around the Black Lives Matter movement. Six brave middle school students explore their own experiences with the Black Lives Matter movement as their individual stories interact in the historical Rock Creek Park of Washington, DC. They share personal reflections of friendship, freedom, kindness, representation, and humanity from their point of view. They learn that they have the power to make a difference and make a statement through their actions as well as artistic expression.
About the author
For Love of Children is an education nonprofit based in Washington, DC. In operation since 1965, FLOC has served more than 10,000 children and youth and has become one of the most respected nonprofits in the community.
