About the illustrator

Wendy Crittenden can’t remember a time when she wasn’t drawing, it was always a part of her California childhood. She grew up and pursued a BFA and MFA in photography, but was always working on her first love of drawing on the side. Her drawing style has always had an illustrative quality, and The Wallflower and the Butterfly is a perfect fit for her first illustrated children’s book. She currently resides in Grand Junction, Colorado with her happy-go-lucky houndly mutt.
