This is the fourth book documenting a unique period of time (the present). The country I loved is a place I recognize less. My personal life continues to be better than I deserve. I discover new concepts in music (new to me) and love my dogs more and more. I am unable to shut out the sickness that threatens our country's existence. I try and compensate by walking in the woods with my fiancé, Lydia, and our dogs Cusco and Suki. I practice music and workout everyday and find ways to keep it interesting. The last few years have been more of everything. More good. More bad. Writing allows me to process what is happening and makes me try and resolve the unresolvable. I hope you decide to take the ride with me. We are traveling together. Some of us realize it and others pretend not to by shutting their eyes and ears. I'm envious in certain ways, but I'm more disgusted. I'll still find a way to see some humor and some hope. Peace, Tom

About The Author

Tom Shaper is a guitarist, piano player, and song writer. He loves dogs and has a CD called Yoga Dogs and Music. He is an attorney who specialized in municipal law and business transactions. He is passionate about the environment and reluctantly finds himself being involved in politics. He believes it is the duty of all of us to look at the injustices in our country, and the world, speak out about them and make a difference where we can. Shaper is a graduate of Boston University, whether it will admit it or not, and was influenced by Professor Howard Zinn. He loves exercise and prides himself on his ability to hula hoop on a bosu ball while lifting weights. Shaper began writing as he saw the country shifting (a polite way of saying "falling apart.") in all the wrong ways. His mission was to be on the right side of history and document it accurately with some humor. Shaper has invented a musical instrument called the "Jasperbridge" which is a combination of drums and guitar. He is in the library of Congress for this invention, his musical compositions, and his books. At this point in time he does not have quite as much money as Elon Musk but he probably is much happier.
