Up and Under

Kevin Myers is a young college graduate with a heart of gold in one hand and an ill temper in the other. In 2001, he knew exactly how life was going to turn out at the tender age of twenty-two but then that thing called life got in the way. With the aid of some colorful characters, Kevin tries to survive the perils of living in Austin, TX and Las Vegas, NV under difficult circumstances. The reader will see how Kevin's character is transformed through hardships and the tough decisions he must make to endure. Kevin finally finds his true calling in life by teaching music and coaching boys basketball but the drama that is his life never seems to be too far away from him.

Kevin is prone to confrontation but also goes the extra mile for his friends and family. He fights off unemployment and an overwhelming sense of failure as obstacles come his way. With determination and a faulty personality, he doesn’t let anything stop him as he navigates through life.

Scott is currently a music teacher in Las Vegas, NV. He grew up moving from state to state as a child on the East Coast since his father worked for several airline companies. He lived in cities such as Hilaeah, Orlando, Charlotte and Pittsburgh during his childhood and also visited many others while taking trips with his father. Scott graduated with a B.S. in Music Education in 1998 from Slippery Rock University. He moved to Austin, TX and began teaching private music lessons then became a band director with the Austin Independent School District. In 2003, Scott decided to pursue a life in Las Vegas, NV and began teaching music in the Clark County School District. He graduated with a Masters degree in music from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007 and is currently working on writing children's musicals. In his spare time Scott likes to play and coach basketball as well as watch old movies and ride his bike around the Las Vegas valley.
