About the author
Michael-Christopher has been an active voice in the LGBT community as an author, publisher, illustrator, lecturer, and artistic advisor to several outreach campaigns throughout the United States. In 1998 Michael released his comic series Living The Life then transitioned his characters to novel form writing two Living the Life prequels. Michael shifted gears and penned two very provocative novels; From Top to Bottom, which explores masculinity within the LGBT community, then, followed with Unspeakable tackling male sexual abuse.
Realizing there was a void in the LGBT Community of Color, Michael co-founded SWERV, a quarterly arts and entertainment magazine focusing only on people in the community making great strides in art, music, literature, activism and politics. Michael’s roles included Editor-in-Chief, Art Director, Graphic Designer, photographer and Co-publisher. In his 13 issues Michael also wrote over 50 articles, interviews, reviews and editorials.
Michael has appeared in Vibe, Honey, The Advocate, David, Southern Voice, Metro Weekly, The New York Blade and The Washington Blade and has held spots in the top ten best seller’s list at Lambda Rising, Giovanni’s Room, Amazon's Hot New Releases – Gay Fiction list and Tower Top 100 Book Bestsellers. To round out his list of diverse publications, Michael release a 100-page book of his photography, MAN:BLACK – Images of Black Male Beauty in 2010.
