Description

When a middle-aged woman with grown children and a much younger gay man become great friends and decide to take a "bucket list"-type journey across country, many unlikely events come to pass. David knew he was not going to live a long life, so he had the desire to see places he'd never seen and visit family and friends while he could. What takes place is a heartwarming tale of hope, friendship and faith. Starting out in a tiny car and not knowing how far their travels will take them or how long it would last, they discover not only new horizons to conquer, but a friendship and a closeness that would remain long after their journey ended.

About the author

Sandy Morton Starr was born in Miami, Florida, and traveled throughout her school-age years because of her father's engineering job. Thus was born her love of adventure and learning and geography. She has worked as a graphic artist, an actress, a travel agent, and in numerous clerical positions. She did a lot of theater, film and television work before settling into her favorite role - that of a freelance artist. “I never set out to be a writer, using instead my creative inclinations to draw and paint in order to capture the beauty around me. When embarking on this trip with a precious friend who was like a brother to me, I realized that I should document the wonderful events and tell his story of hope. Today, we call this a person’s “bucket list”, but back when this trip occurred, it was merely David’s wish to see friends and family and experience as much as he could while he was here on Earth. I hope that this little book will encourage others who have been given negative news, and those who haven’t, to realize that we must live every day to its fullest and move forward with joy and acceptance.
