About The Author
Garry L. Smith is an Air Force Veteran, Playwright, Poet, and community servant. Born in a small rural area of Northeast Arkansas, Garry was very innovative and curious about life's opportunities and expectations from both a personal and perceived point of view. He does his best writing in his backyard under an old paloverde tree but wherever he is inspired, he will quickly take out his phone and text himself notes of inspirational thoughts. Garry has always enjoyed writing about life lessons, but he was encouraged to share his writing with the world after a family member collected a few of his poems and demanded that he publish them. His work cross multiple disciplines that broadly address narratives of human experience. As a playwright, Garry wrote, directed, and produce a play titled "Walk with Me". "Walk with Me," is a play about a Desert Storm veteran with the intention to spread the awareness of PTSD and the effects it has on the family, friends, and community. It's a story of hope and overcoming adversity.
Although disciplined with an Associate Degree in Aircraft Technology, a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Science, a Master's Degree in Professional Aeronautical, and a DBA Doctoral candidate, but he bases his writing on the most profound educational institution called Life. He believes that life's struggles and experiences have hard-wired the human brain to seek out negativity. For instance, a person can drive by 50 miles of beautiful sceneries and not see it because of the anticipation of something negative such as a traffic jam ahead. Where is the peace? We often overlook in by seeking negativity.
This publication is one of a series beginning with "Understanding the Darkness, to See the Light", which brings awareness to the darkness in life, "The Road to Inner Peace" thus focuses on the plan to attain peace and a series dedicated to the glory or living in peace. It is a pleasure to share my work with the hope it will somehow inspire someone to achieve righteousness and peace.
