About the author
David James Madden was born in Manchester, CT in 1949. He has lived in the beautiful coastal town of Westerly, Rhode Island since marrying Sandra in 1993. He is the father of four children: his sons, both of whom live in New York City and two stepdaughters who live in New Hampshire and Westerly. One of the great joys in David's life is being "Dede" to his grandchildren. David was a teacher in Groton, CT public schools for 35 years and has been a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) since 1999. In addition to "Under the Stars", he has previously written three other books: "Sprung from the Soil", "A Quaker Cupboard", and a novel entitled "An Unknown Soldier." David enjoys and appreciates the return of warmer days in spring, the Rhode Island shore in summer, the color of pumpkins and leaves in autumn, a warm fireplace when it's snowing in winter.
