Description
An original Australian Two Part Christmas story, told through the eyes of Ollie Owl. In keeping with the traditional old fashioned Christmas theme, this story begins with Twinkle the Christmas Star meeting Ollie Owl on the busiest night of her life. It's Christmas Eve and Twinkle is busy sprinkling her magic on our Christmas trees when she spots Ollie sitting in his tree. Making herself comfy on his wing, Twinkle tells Ollie her amazing story of the big job she has to do tonight and all about her home in the sky surrounded by trillions of little twinkling stars. Twinkle tells Ollie of her friends, Mr Moonlight and Mrs Sunlight and the clouds and rainbow, but then it's time to go, as Twinkle has a big job to do. Ollie is sad when Twinkle says goodbye, but she has left him with the most amazing story to tell...but it doesn't end there. On Christmas evening, Ollie is sitting alone in his tree, thinking of Twinkle and where she might be. Then sprinkles of stardust fell down from the sky...and Twinkle appeared...what a surprise. Then, guess what girls and boys, Ollie has a second story to tell. Twinkle Meets Santa is the most incredible story this old owl has ever heard. In part two of Twinkle the Christmas Star, Ollie relates Twinkle's once in a lifetime meeting with Santa Claus and his reindeer, followed by her exciting trip to the North Pole to meet Mrs Claus and Santa's elves.
About the author
Cathie’s love of rhyming began at the tender age of eight, when she won a Poetry Competition at school in 1960. Over the years Cathie dabbled in light hearted rhyming poems and personal verses on greeting cards etc but never actually expanded beyond this. Then in August 2006, at the age of 54, Cathie’s writing began to emerge in a way she never believed possible. Writing a children’s story had never entered her head, until she was asked by a friend’s daughter; a university student studying teaching, to write a children’s story for her to market as an assignment. This was the beginning of a whole new world, unleashing a passion Cathie never realised existed. Having self published her first children’s book in 2009, Cathie was delighted to be invited by international author Peter Watt, to share in the Book Launch of his eleventh novel, published by Pan MacMillan, titled “To Touch the Clouds.” Placing her book in over 150 stores around the country, gave Cathie the confidence to continue to self publish her second and third title. Cathie won The Clarence Valley Senior’s Week Writing Competition two years in a row, demonstrating her ability to entertain adults with her writing, but her heart will always be in children’s books. Consequently she loves interacting with children at school and library visits and the opportunity to see the precious looks on the faces of her young audience, as they listen to her stories. Previews of Cathie’s three books can be viewed on her website www.atomchildrensbooks.com.au
