About The Author

Marilyn is the fourth born of 12 children. Born in Berlin, New Jersey, and raised by her extraordinary parents Elijah and Susie Reid. Her father was a highly respected pastor and, her mother was also a leader in the church and a community activist. Both parents leadership abilities/style had a tremendous influence on her life. She along with her eleven siblings were raised to serve others. Eight of the twelve children graduated from college. In 1968 Marilyn graduated from Edgewood Regional High School, in Tansboro, NJ. She was recognized and honored by her peers. A class of 225 students chose her as being the Senior Classmate of the year. I attended Winston Salem State University and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation, Marilyn was hired as a Health and Phys Ed. Teacher at Deptford Township High school in 1973. Her finest hour while teaching was coaching the Girls Track Team to a State Championship. She briefly left teaching and became a full-time licensed Realtor. She also worked as Facilitator trainer for the American Red Cross. After returning to the teaching profession in Camden city schools, she decided to get her Master's degree in School counseling. This was acquired from Wilmington College in Delaware 2002. She retired in 2014 after 30 years of service. Marilyn has been married for 40 plus years to Mr. Harold Hill. Together they have two sons, Harold III and Jason, both married. They both serve as outstanding Administrators in public education. Marilyn has 5 grands, four grandsons and one granddaughter. I am deeply grateful to my brothers and sisters, whose love, encouragement, and shared history continually inspired this work. Your stories, laughter, and unwavering support gave this book its heart. I hope you enjoyed the Reid story. Feel free to send comment, or review to the email servant469@gmail.com
