Overview
Turbulent Waves is a poetry anthology of sixty-five micro-writes or "very short stories" that Verde Mar wrote since the start of the Covid-19 global pandemic. The cover image of Jupiter's vast storms serves as a metaphor for the turbulent times we have experienced since the onset of Covid-19.
Description
Verde Mar wrote Turbulent Waves as a member of Twitter's writing community. Turbulent Waves is divided into thirteen sections or "elements", including "Komorebi," the effect of sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees; "Saudade," the love that remains even after someone is gone; and "Petrichor," the mild and pleasant smell or scent of earth associated with the first rain after a dry spell. Each element showcases enigmatic, melancholic, and in some cases "poly-paradoxical" micro-writes that work within the theme of that element.
About the author
Verde Mar began writing enigmatic, paradoxical, melancholic micro-poetry on Twitter just as the global pandemic began. He was born in Rhode Island just off the Wampanoag Trail by the Narragansett Bay. Earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science in New Mexico and began a career in technical writing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Built a home by the ocean just as his family welcomed twins onto our little blue-white box of rain just to keep busy like all writers. An avid vinyl LP audiophile and science fiction reader, Verde also loves to ski and allows golf to play him. Verde Mar now lives in Rancho Mirage, CA.
