Joanne Garcia Arballo blends her love of writing with her expertise as a child passenger safety advocate to author fun and impactful children’s books. As a mom of four, and grandmother of two, she’s accumulated thousands of miles of first-hand experience using car seats and boosters.
Her journey as a child passenger safety advocate began in 2004 when she co-founded the non-profit Car Seats for Christy in memory of a dear friend whose safety habits proved to be lifesaving for her two daughters.
After enjoying a 30-year career as a communications professional crafting non-fiction for the corporate world while raising a family and building Car Seats for Christy into a valuable community resource, Joanne retired in the summer of 2023. She now focuses on writing children's books and leading charitable efforts alongside other dedicated safety organizations and emergency responders.
Joanne is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television and is an award-winning scriptwriter. She lives in Southern Nevada and was recognized in 2024 with the Nevada Volunteers Governor’s Points of Light award - the highest honor bestowed by the Governor of Nevada and Nevada Volunteers.
