Joanne Arballo is co-founder of the non-profit Car Seats for Christy, a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) and dedicated child passenger safety advocate. She set out to write car seat-themed children's stories as she was about to become a grandma, wanted to buy her grandbaby a book about car seats and discovered that the only one on the market was more than 20 years old! That experience led to her first bedtime story, Good Night Car Seat – a big hit with her granddaughter and the start of a wonderful collaboration with her talented teenaged niece who brought the book to life with lovingly detailed illustrations. Of Trusty the Car Seat, Arballo says the story, "fell into place after reflecting on the social unrest that took place throughout the summer of 2020 and the firm belief that it's never too early for littles to learn to celebrate what makes us unique." Arballo plans to pen more books, with the intent of reinforcing child passenger safety for little passengers and their grownups while weaving in a lesson or two along the way. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television, she's an internal, media and crisis communications professional who earns a living crafting non-fiction for the corporate world. Arballo is an award-winning scriptwriter who has also been recognized for her work in the community. In addition to being one lucky grandma, she's a proud wife, and mom to four grown kids.
