About the author
Aubrey Brown "Buddy" Parker is a painter, sculptor ,and songwriter from Bexar County Texas. Growing up on a farm near San Antonio with only dairy cattle for company, Parker humoursly claims his social skills were learned from cows.
Joining the Coast Guard while living in Corpus Christi after high school and junior college Buddy spent over twenty years as an Electronics Field Engineer for RCA. Those years travelling alone and being away from his young family were spent in the pursuit of the visual arts, along with poetry and songs.
In the 90's Parker began an encore career as a teacher of electronics and computer technology after completing his undergrad and MFA course work in Fine Art, Video, and Film at Stephen F. Austin State University.
After 9/11 Buddy joined the Goast Guard Auxillary, serving his country for another five years . He retired from teaching in 2002.
Parker has established a permanent residence in Olivia, Texas where he works in the arts daily...finding beauty in nature, community, and the irony that living on the coast has come full circle.
