Albert "Beto" Ochoa is a coach, creator, and lifelong multi-sport athlete whose life's work bridges the physical, mental, and spiritual sides of performance. Known for blending precision mechanics with intuition, Beto brings together the science of movement and the art of awareness in a way that few coaches can. Rooted in his Native American heritage and the curandero (healer) traditions passed down through his family, Beto's students often call him a "sports shaman." He believes that true mastery, whether in sport, art, or life, comes from learning to channel energy, focus, and intention. This understanding of energy and flow has shaped not only how he teaches tennis but also how he approaches every challenge: as a chance to align body, mind, and spirit. Over the decades, Beto has coached athletes of every level, from eager beginners taking their first swing to professionals refining the last one percent of their game. His unique ability to connect with players earned him multiple Texas High School Coach of the Year honors (including recognition from the USPTA) and Local Coach of the Year awards from the Capital Area Tennis Association, where he also served on the board. As a classroom educator, he brought the same passion for growth and creativity to his students, earning Teacher of the Year as an Art and Photography instructor. Beyond coaching, Beto is a multidisciplinary artist: painter, sculptor, photographer, musician, and writer.
