About the author

Briana Bostic is the author of this book and founder of The Black Heron Company. This creative work is inspired by her preschool experience at Wallace Elementary School, time in the classroom with "The Innovators", as well as years of research and community organizing in Chicago, St. Louis, Prince George's County (MD), and Baltimore.
