Time Zones Time Zones by Sven Siekmann offers us a compelling inside view of the oppressive totalitarian East German state before the wall came down. Sven is a gifted artist who portrays characters both visually and through dialogue. His illustrations offer the reader a glimpse into the inner workings of each character, whether representing those trying for freedom or those representing the oppressive regime. In this autobiographical work of art, Sven uses compelling metaphor throughout, particularly of birds, who fly free, to capture our imaginations. What was this experience he lived through really like? This book is truly timely, standing as a cautionary tale in a world that has perhaps forgotten what true oppression can be. Read more
