Thyme in Forever

It's the end of summer, and twelve-year-old Thyme is facing changes she doesn't want. Still grieving the loss of her mother, she dreads starting middle school in a new city and struggles with loneliness while her father seems ready to move on. Her only comfort is Rocko, the stuffed dog her mother made for her. When Thyme begins spending her days with her eccentric Aunt Nancy, she makes a surprising discovery in her aunt's observatory: a mysterious clock, a pendant, and an unfinished story written by her mother. Hidden inside the pendant is a riddle that, once solved, transports Thyme and Rocko into the magical land of Forever—a dazzling place where the sun always shines and every day feels like a carnival. At first, Forever seems perfect, but Thyme soon learns that time itself has stopped and the land is beginning to unravel. With two new friends who believe she is a "changer," Thyme sets out on a dangerous journey across strange and challenging landscapes to reach the ruler of Forever and break the curse of permanence. Along the way, Thyme must confront fear, regret, and loss—and discover that the story unfolding in Forever is one she must help write herself. In learning to restore time to a magical world, she also learns how to embrace change in her own.
