Overview
Three Generations is the story of three women told in three separate stories...Claire, Liz, and Hannah. They are grandmother, mother, and daughter. Each generation leaves her mark not only on history, but in the DNA of the next generation. It is a story of why we are who we are. Where do we get our bad temper or our stubborn drive to succeed? We are our mothers... Like it or not, we see them in our eyes, hear them in our voice, and often speak as they spoke. These short snips offers a tease into each separate story of Three Generations. "......CLAIRE lived in a city that was neither welcoming nor clean… a city of ‘clapboard’ houses, slapped up in a desperate attempt to accommodate the masses that increased daily in this city called London. She knew her mother struggled under her own dark madness. She never talked about it, and now, Claire understood why." "...LIZ changed that day. Her husband noticed as well. Her childish beauty was now hardened. She avoided him at all costs, even at the cost of being threatened with a beating. He raised a belt to her during a drunken moment when she refused his affections. She stayed her ground, challenging him with an intense look from her angry blue eyes." "...HANNAH felt numb as they rode away. She could not look back. It was over, but for the man she wrapped her arms around. They rode steadily west until the rolling hills of the Great Smokey mountains gave way to the flat meadows near the Arkansas river."
Description
"Three Generations" takes you through time, and in the lives of three different women. It is the story of us...where we came from, why we act as we do, and what drives us to achieve our dreams. It is the story of our mothers and grandmothers. It is the story of women, that fabric of humanity knitted by controversy and challenge. Through Claire, we learn to embrace hope when all our world has offered us is despair. In the life of her daughter Liz, we learn strength and determination to become who we dream of being. And, lastly, in Hannah, we take a journey west into wilderness and the pioneer spirit that became most of us today. Each generation faces trials, dangers, successes, love, and drama. Each generation is born with something that tells her "She Can!" She won't give up. It isn't in her to profess defeat. She engages struggle, and finds her success in the voice that speaks out from deep within her...the voice that pushes her farther than she thought possible...the voices of three generations of women who were before her...our mothers.
