Fred Trellis was a curmudgeon but he loved to go fishing with friends. That's when they found the body in the lake house. Soon Fred finds even more, that he could be the next victim. An elite lady of the evening finds an old picture that sets in motion the clues that lead to the crumbling manse. Will the amateur genealogist and his friend the hit-man get there in time?

Description
When Fred Trellis sets off for a trip to his hometown, he plans a long weekend of fishing and reminiscing with childhood friends. But those plans are derailed by the discovery of a dead man's body in a house by the lake. A call to the police kicks off an investigation, but Fred quickly learns that someone resents his meddling. The discovery of an 80-year-old photograph provides the key to the evil, but has it been found in time? A retired serial killer, a former high-priced hooker, and a geneaologist join forces to find Fred and save him before he becomes the next victim. In this thrilling mystery, author K. Toppel unravels a web of small-town secrets and the horror that can exist where one least expects to find it.
