Overview
Two women who look enough alike to be twins--and so different in personality that they might be from different planets--meet by chance and decide to change places for a week. Each will perform a task the other dreads: Samantha will deal with a "dying" grandmother and Jayne will sign Sam's divorce papers. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, and in bunches, including someone on their trail with evil intent. But who's the target? And will they live long enough to find out?
Description
Everybody has a double somewhere, according to Mother. But what happens when doubles meet? Samantha Smith is a gorgeous and classy con artist who's trying to reform. Unfortunately, the straight and narrow path has more twists and turns than a fortune cookie. Jayne Roberts, Sam's mousy lookalike, is a presidential archivist and "good girl" who longs to go bad - or at least go to bed with Sam's hunky husband. The look alikes - and so different in personality that they might be from different planets--meet by chance in Chicago’s O’Hare Airport during the snowstorm of the century. Each is faced with a task she dreads. While on terminal layover, they agree to trade places with disastrous results. Pursued by someone they know not why, they're just a mistaken identity away from love, lust, danger and other natural disasters. And they don't even like each other! Much.
About the author
Writer Lee Duran laughs in the face of adversity...usually. Surviving a life of trial and tribulation (like who hasn’t), she’s hung in there with a glass-half-full attitude. All she ever wanted to be was a writer but along the way she served time as a waitress, a nurse’s aide, assistant to a private eye, a corporate gofer and a member of the United States Navy. Eventually she became a newspaper reporter, a newspaper editor, and at long last, sold her first romance novel to Harlequin in 1988. Unfortunately, it wasn’t under her name but under the pseudonym Ruth Jean Dale. Good old Ruth Jean sold some 30+ novels to Harlequin and several novellas there and at St. Martin’s. This happy time came to a crashing halt in 2000 and she spent the next eight years as a caregiver. The publishing industry changed during that decade and is still changing. Lee now enters e-publishing with high spirits and great enthusiasm. Always fighting rebel tendencies, she can now give free rein to the different drummer which drives her. Her motto: Laugh. You’ll feel better. She hopes her DOUBLETAKE books and others to follow will give you plenty to laugh about.
