About the author
Vashti Stopher Klein is an award-winning filmmaker and singer-songwriter based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. In 2012, she founded Butterfly Effect Productions, dedicated to creating artistic works that soothe the mind, body, and spirit.
Vashti has released two albums—The Heart of Things (2014) and Path to the Sun, Moon, and Stars (2017)—along with several singles. Her first book of poetry, The Soprano, the Monster, and the Dragonslayer (2019), was illustrated by Carol Collett. "The Umbrella Fixer" is her second book of poetry, features illustrations by Katarina Naskovsky.
Vashti holds Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
Her music ranges from the rustic sounds of a Kentucky farm to the elegance of a concert hall, while her poetry explores the spectrum of love and life. She believes in the restorative power of art and hopes her audience experiences its transformative effect.
