Description
The story of a poor Polish youth forced to take employment in 1940 at Auschwitz. He was then later drafted into the German Army and sent to Stalingrad for the winter of 1942. There he survived only be being wounded and flown out. His adventures continued until with the help of the French Resistance, he fled to England, joined the Free Polish Forces and wore his second uniform during World War II. His life of near misses was to continue, being almost killed by food poisoning, the flooding of a coal mine where he worked after the war, and his changing ships bound for the United States and avoiding another disaster. He came to Chicago and through another twist of fate, became the right hand man of P.K. Wrigley, and later his son, Bill.
