About the author
Rebecca (Becky) Thomas was an elementary teacher for twenty-eight years and now provides in-school math field trips and workshops for elementary students and teachers. Using her program Academics through Music, Rebecca teaches math through song, dance, and activities. During her years of teaching, Rebecca received various awards for creativity in the classroom, most significantly the Disney Teacherrific Special Judges Award. She was also nominated by select Orange County students as the "Most Influential Teacher" in the Orange County Florida Public Schools and honored at the National Staff Development Conference. Rebecca writes children's songs, poetry, and educational material that can be found on her website. Originally from Northeastern Ohio, Rebecca now lives in a small town outside of Orlando, Florida where she continues to write, teach, and work on her 1920's home.
