Description

Patience Davis, a twenty-one-year-old literary major, finishing her final year at NYU, decides at the last minute to leave the Big Apple to visit her parents for Christmas break. This is Patience' first time traveling home to the old stomping grounds of her youth since leaving for college. Her destination: Moosehead Island, a sleepy little rock off the coast of Maine, far removed from the rest of New England. As soon as Patience steps off the ferry, a vicious snowstorm unlike any the island has ever seen strikes.

But, the storm is only the beginning.

Trapped inside her childhood home, Patience' boredom becomes too much to bear. In a semi-coherent state induced by the spell of the passing storm, she writes a gruesome horror story. The next day, she wakes with no recollection of it. A strange series of horrific murders starts happening around the island. Patience can't help but draw connections from these real-life murders to the mysteriously penned story; she has no memory of writing.

Feeling responsible for the carnage across the island, Patience is forced to set out and stop whatever evil she has inadvertently released onto her childhood home.

About the author

"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing…" - Walt Disney

Kiara Shaw is a Licensed Vocational Nurse who was born and raised in the sunny climes of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and is currently studying at Grand Canyon University for her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree. She intends to one day become a Nursing Instructor. Still, recently she has added the title of author to her list of achievements.

Having developed a love of reading at a young age, when her father would read her bedtime stories, Kiara then started writing her own poetry at the age of 10. From there, she moved into writing for children and has now just finished her first novel.

The Terror on Moosehead Island is a supernatural thriller where the main protagonist writes subconsciously about gruesome killings that come true. Desperate to find a way to stop the killings, she enlists the help of a witch who tells her an evil demon from another dimension is trying to take over the island on which she lives.

In her free time, Kiara loves reading, writing, collecting comic books, and watching football. She also enjoys spending time with her bulldog, Hennessey, and would like to continue to write in the future, while still carrying on with her nursing career.
