She is also an ex-principal, ex-equestrian, ex-wife and now an ex-best-friend after a brutal murder that she is determined to solve. To the dismay of her detective lover, Susan uses her equestrian, school and family contacts to uncover a suspect in that murder, all the while fending off her increasingly volatile ex-husband. SILENT SIGNALS When Susan witnesses a fatal fall on a cross-country course, she's not sure it's an accident. As she begins to ask questions, she finds motives for murder abound but she can't see how it could have been done. Newly married and still emotionally supporting three grown sons, Susan has little time for her obsession with this imagined murder and grows increasingly frustrated. LOOSE REIN When a girl is found dead at the bottom of a gorge and the police rule it a suicide, Susan suddenly finds herself caught up in a swirl of births and deaths that threaten to leave her family in turmoil.
