About The Author

Mike has surfed his whole life. In the old days, there wasn't much information for surf travelers, so in planning trips he gathered enough info to, well, write a book. He first wrote this guide just for himself and friends. After making too many trips to Kinkos he decided to offer it for sale, and it quickly became a Central America surf travel classic. A few years after publishing the Costa Rica guide Mike did the same for Baja, as his surf travel at that point mainly consisted of alternating between Costa Rica and Baja. That guide became pretty popular, too. Eventually Nicaragua joined the surf travel itinerary, but rather than adding another book to the workload - after all, he has a real job, too - Mike decided to add SW Nica to the Costa Rica guide, and that's what you have now. Nicaragua for free. When not working on this labor of love, which is most of the time, Mike does really hard work as an advertising executive in Los Angeles.
