About the author
Sissy Taran is a former elementary school teacher who has been honored with outstanding service awards from the Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara PTAs. Currently she is a mentor in the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse’s Fighting Back program in Santa Barbara, which named her 2007 Mentor of the Year. An active leader in CALM, Hadassah, the Anti-Defamation League and other organizations, she still finds time for her first love—her children and grandchildren.
