About The Author

Jeanne Donohue had a career in the movement arts and theater production, having begun her professional life in dance and improvisational theater. Jeanne worked off-Broadway as a lighting designer, theater electrician, and production manager. Additionally, she had a private Pilates practice in Soho, NYC, for over 20 years while raising three children. Jeanne also worked as an adjunct movement teacher at New York University in the Experimental Theater Wing for many years. Jeanne returned to school as an adult and received a BA in Political Science from Kean University and also earned a Master's degree in English and Writing Studies. Following COVID, she completed her law degree at Suffolk University and now practices Maritime Law in Boston, MA. Jeanne discovered Simonson Technique as a dancer in her teens and later was a student of Simonson's Method of Teacher Training. After six years of biographical research, Jeanne has just published her first book, The Simonson Legacy, a coffee-table biography of dance innovator Lynn Simonson and her community of teachers and dancers.
