Description
At the tender age of six months, Mattie Rose and Annie Lizbeth Radley are left behind by their mother who prefers to seek greener, unencumbered pastures. Nine years later, these bright and high-spirited twins are ready to enter fifth grade and conquer new challenges. Supported by the love of their wise and practical grandmother, and the guidance of their hard-working, loyal father, the twins' tenth year is filled with fun, childhood foolishness, as well as an awakening to the realities of a more complicated world. This is a poignant story of childhood innocence, resilience, the drive to overcome hardship, and the acceptance of bitter truth. It is the story of family, and the unbreakable bonds of sisterly love.
