A 22 year resident of Las Vegas and a decades long visitor before that, Leonard has witnessed the transition from "old Vegas" to the present corporately molded "New Las Vegas", and has lived the life as a true insider. As a Blackjack and Roulette dealer at a major resort & casino, the gazillions of eye-opening happenings, inter-actions, feelings, and lost ambitions are flavored by his retail and wholesale business background, used intermittently, with his devilishly keen , fresh, and bizarre sense of humor to challenge the reader's deniability as to their kinship with the wild and crazy inner thoughts of the protagonist, Ernie Forrest.
Leonard lived in Southern California for 30 years prior to his Las Vegas residency, and a short time all over our beautiful country before that. Fathering 4 beautiful daughters and 3 ugly ones, Leonard's current wife of 18 years has stood the test of time, as she is #4. Seriously.
Having traveled almost all over the world, and having had many business and career ups and downs, and having spent way too much of his high school time in the principal's office, Leonard is fully mentally equipped to make the reader laugh incessantly, cry a little, and learn a lot about life as a casino dealer. As the storyline is interspersed between the non-fictional story of casino life and a fictional comedy romance, Leonard has imposed upon the reader several profound thoughts, observations, and honest feelings and emotions that have the potential to change one's outlook long after the laughter and tears have subsided.
