Overview
Tina was returning from the perfect vacation in Mexico when only ten minutes after takes off, the engines stop. The subsequent emergency landing, and the injury Tina sustains from it, changes her life forever. Tina's rescue was remarkable in itself, but her fight to recover and eventually regain the full use of her damaged limbs was a miracle. In a lawsuit intended to recoup the medical costs, Tina discovers that the plane was grossly under-insured, But, represented by an attorney recommended to her by an acquaintance, the case quickly takes an unexpected turn into the dark side of the American legal system. Battling crooked lawyers and corrupt judges eventually takes its toll on Tina, and she is forced to make a choice. Settle for a fraction of what she rightfully deserves, and let them win, or, keep fighting through a justice system that isn't always just. After a grueling eleven year battle, sometimes the easy way out looks like the only way. Feeling the need to thank the first responders, Tina returns to Mexico to find the man that made the rescue. With no idea where to start, but with a bit of luck, walking in the footprints of the past could prove to be a choice she was glad to make. THE RIDE takes a fast paced journey through one woman's years of legal struggles, and her eventual triumph over tragedy.
Description
One doesn't intentionally fly into a dark and cloudy storm, but life is such. Trying to navigate the justice system and to heal mentally and physically, as the lone survivor of a horrific plane crash, will challenge one's moral compass. THE RIDE, In the Air & Through the Courts, reveals that life goes on and the decisions we make or don't make have consequences that lay the groundwork for the future. The justice system isn't always just, and the past can mold your future. You must let it go to survive. Each experience teaches us something. We are all children and with every experience, we grow and mature.
About the author
Growing up in new york city and living in a two bedroom apartment with five other family members was bitter sweet. I loved the city and where i lived. Living in a crowded city makes you strong and teaches you how to survive. I followed the rules my father set and received my bba in marketing from nyu, got married and had children. Later, when my two boys were in school, i went back to college for a degree in education and school counseling. Being young and adventuresome, my husband and i followed our neighbors out west where we didn’t have a home, a job, or other friends. We opened and ran a successful business and lived happily ever after, until one day, the police came to our business and told me the news. As devastating as it was, life goes on and we go on. Volunteering in a local hospital when i had free time helped fill the void and gave me tremendous satisfaction. Joining a singles group helped me to meet other singles in the community. It was here i met my lifelong friends and where i met my future husband and my fiancée. It was here where my new story began.
