Description

The Riddle of John the Little has what children like. They are often stories that rhyme, are rhythmic, humorous, have animals, especially bears, and scare them, but not by too much.

The book can increase Adults’ enjoyment of reading to children because it is not too long, and adults enjoy the wordplay.

It has some of what teachers like. Stories that employ rhyme and rhythm help teach children how to read because it teaches them how language works. The many new two-syllable words correspond to illustrations that show what the words mean.

About The Author

Rose Christianson is inspired by her love of playing with words, rhymes, and rhythms. Having spent time living in the outback of Alaska, Rose drew from her outdoor experiences to create a story where a human interacts with an Alaskan Grizzly, and it ends happily for both. She hopes the story inspires young readers (and their parents) that we humans are living and sharing our precious environment with the wildlife who existed there before us.

In her free time, Rose enjoys watercolor painting, poetry, and cooking. Spending time with her five grandchildren—all of whom were the inspiration for this author’s first published book—keeps her energized.

Adorable! The word play is so charming as is the sweet story of a couple living together in the woods. It's a timeless story mixed with humor, a clever story line, and great illustrations. Our nieces loved it--great for kids! Read more
