The Refiner’s Fire and Fuller’s Soap

Cleansing a Soul, From the Inside-Out

By Curtis Roberts

Overview

"He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap" (Malachi 3:2). God does not leave His people as He finds them — He refines, purifies, and washes away what does not belong. The Refiner's Fire and Fuller's Soap confronts eight sins that quietly corrode the believer's heart, calling readers back to holiness through the purifying work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Written from an Apostolic, Oneness Pentecostal perspective, this book is for anyone ready to be refined, washed clean, and filled with the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38.

Description

The Refiner's Fire and Fuller's Soap is a candid, Scripture-driven look at eight sins that quietly corrode the hearts of believers — often unnoticed, rarely confronted, yet slowly robbing the child of God of the holiness and closeness with the Lord Jesus Christ they were created to walk in. Across twelve chapters, this book does not shy away from calling sin what it is. But it does not stop at conviction — it points, again and again, to the refining fire and cleansing soap of God's grace, and to the transforming power available to every believer filled with the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38. Written from an Apostolic, Oneness Pentecostal perspective and grounded firmly in the King James Version, this is not a book of easy answers or shallow encouragement. It is a book for those willing to be searched, tried, and made clean — for those who sense that something in their walk with God needs to change, and who are ready to let Him do the refining. Each chapter closes with a personal invitation: to surrender more fully to the fire, to the soap, to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself — trusting that what He burns away and washes clean, He restores in righteousness. This book was not written as a scholarly exercise, but born out of a conviction that the Lord placed on the author's heart: that His people are hungry for truth spoken plainly, and hungry to be made clean. Whether read alone in personal devotion or worked through alongside the companion study guide in a small group or church setting, The Refiner's Fire and Fuller's Soap is for anyone who has ever asked, "Who shall stand when He appeareth?" — and who is ready to come out of the fire looking more like the Lord Jesus Christ.

About The Author

Curtis Roberts is not a theologian or a Bible teacher — just a man saved by grace, filled with the Holy Ghost, and inspired by God to put pen to paper. Writing from an Apostolic, Oneness Pentecostal perspective and drawing solely from the King James Version, Curtis never set out to become an author. The words came instead as a burden from the Lord — a conviction that what God had shown him needed to be shared. At the heart of his writing is the same message: repentance, baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:38. Curtis believes Scripture still speaks with the same power today as it always has, and that God can use anyone — regardless of background or credentials — who is willing to be obedient to His voice. Curtis Roberts is the author of The Refiner's Fire and Fuller's Soap, drawn from Malachi 3:2's picture of God's refining and purifying work in the believer's life. He is currently working on several more books exploring the practical and spiritual dimensions of the Christian walk, with the prayer that each one will minister to hearts just as the first has. Each book is written not as a scholarly exercise, but as an act of obedience — a willingness to be used by God to plant seeds of truth in the hearts of readers. Curtis Roberts gives all glory to God for anything of value found within these pages, and prays that every reader would be drawn closer to the Lord Jesus Christ — and stirred to seek Him with their whole heart.
