The Power of my Disability

Joy van der Stel is born on October 27 1975. Due lack of oxygen during birth, she came to this world severely spastic. Here parents were told to wait with the birth announcements. 'She won't make it through the night' was the opinion of the doctors. But Joy is living proof that the doctors do not always know best. She moves around in an electric wheelchair, functions completely self-sufficient, has her own house, a husband, a beautiful daughter and runs her own company. She shows that is is a matter of choice to stay in a single frame. "It's not your handicap but you who decides who you want to be and what you can do." Joy van der Stel is a successful management coach, but most of all a successful mother of a great daughter and happily married to John. She gives seminars on a regular basis and inspires thousands of people both professionally and personally.
