Overview
The Phoenix Deception is a Mack Flynt mystery thriller following the private investigator as he tracks two men who went missing after an oil rig blow-out in the waters off the Gulf Coast. When the trail leads to conspiracy, corruption and murder, he quickly finds himself being hunted by mercenaries and plotted against by government officials in high places.
Description
When a drilling platform off the Louisiana coast explodes in a fireball, it appears to be an unfortunate accident. But things are not always what they seems, and when a government employee overhears a discussion of the event before it happens, a chain of intrigue, cover-up, mystery and murder is unleashed, sweeping up everyone in its deadly path. Two men who may have information about the explosion have vanished, as if into thin air, and the beleaguered head of the drilling company responsible for the doomed platform turns to private investigator Mack Flynt to find them. The trail leads to New Orleans, Norway, the exotic isle of Aruba and finally back to Washington, D.C., where evidence of a massive conspiracy begins to unfold. What begins as a simple missing persons case soon turns into an ordeal for survival by Flynt and his determined team of investigators. When he unravels the mystery, he is targeted for elimination by powerful men whose grand plan has spiraled out of control. The question is one of how high the conspiracy goes, and to what lengths those in power will go to cover it up. And the bigger question for Mack Flynt is whether he will live to see tomorrow.
