Truth is the theme of this book and it is written as a journey that ends in consummate truth.. Each chapter objectively addresses an aspect of the Christian life, using Scripture (mainly the New Testament--especially the teachings and life of Jesus) to help readers to differentiate between superficial, external, religious actions and true piety. It also shows readers how to identify the group of believers they can feel comfortable worshiping with, and the characteristics of a spiritual leader that is chosen by God. Every thought expressed in this book is objectively supported by specific words and actions of Jesus and His apostles. Based only on Scripture, it also shows readers how their inner life affects their outward actions. It alerts them to what they want to know about truth, what they already know, what they don’t want to know, because they perceive it as too difficult, and what they wish that they didn’t know. The experiences of iconic Bible characters are used as illustrations, in order to exemplify the hidden virtues of those who follow what they know to be truth.
