He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford Graduate School, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Stellenbosch University (where he also serves as a Research Associate).
